Staff training & ASL specialties

We are committed to Continued Professional Development (CPD). All our staff are provided with training and opportunities to develop their skills to ensure they are able to support children as effectively as possible.
The leadership team are all experienced in working with children with SEN.
Head of School, Ms Sims, has the National Award for Special Educational Needs. The Senco has attended courses for Speech and Language, Autism, English as Additional Language, Interventions for Reading and Maths, Literacy difficulties, Behaviour, Early Identification of SEN and is working towards the National Award for Special Educational Needs.
Teachers have had training on working with pupils with ASD, Speech and Language, supporting pupils with specific learning difficulties and multi-sensory teaching strategies.
ASL’s have undergone training in Speech and Language, Autism Awareness, Reading, Maths training, Behaviour Awareness training, general SEN awareness training and sensory room training. One ASL has completed specialist Dyslexia training at a higher level.
